President: Er Bishnu P Neupane, MBS, BE

Engineer Bishnu Neupane is the President of SONP-UK. Er Bishnu is an IT specialist with many years of experiences working in Information & Technology, Networking, Data Security, Cloud services & customer support. Er Bishnu has worked with various organizations including Ministry of Home in Nepal and FMP projects for Ministry of Finance and at Ultra Systems Computer International in Kathmandu. Er Bishnu currently working in Information and Technology sector in UK. He was an adviser for NRNA England Committee previously. Er Bishnu is interested in working with the communities for social development. Er Bishnu has been living in UK since 2007 in South East London and he is natively from Chitwan Nepal.

 


Vice President: Mr Gajen Katwal, MA

Mr Gajan Katwal is the vice-president of SONP-UK. Mr Gajen is a social development activist, and he has more than a decade of experiences working in various multilateral and bilateral Organisations in Nepal (UNDP, SDC, SNV, Plan International, and Pro-public) from local to the national level. He holds Master’s Degree in International Social Development from University of East Anglia UK and Master’s in Sociology from TU Nepal. Mr Gajen recently working in Community Health in H&F Partnership, UK. He is also an Advisor of NRNA-UK, Dartford Nepalese Community-UK, Ilam Society UK, Royal Borough of Greenwich Nepalese Society-UK and Chairperson of Social Campaign for Positive Change (SCPC) in Illam Nepal.  Mr Gajen has been living in UK since 2005 in Dartford Kent and he is natively from Illam, Nepal.

 


General Secretary: Dr Om Prasad Gautam, PhD, MPH, MA

Dr Om Prasad Gautam is the General Secretary of SONP-UK. Dr Om is a Public Health Expert and Behaviour Change Scientist with more than 22 years of work and research experiences in Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), public health, behaviour change, child health, immunization, food hygiene/safety, diseases surveillance, equity and inclusion, HIV/AIDS programme, and in international development. Dr Om holds PhD from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine UK, Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPA) from James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University Bangladesh and another Master’s Degree on Social Sciences (MA Sociology) from TU Nepal. Dr Om currently works in International Development Sector as a Senior Manager (global lead on behaviour change). He previously worked at various international organizations including World Health Organization etc. Dr Om has experiences in managing large scale multi-country programmes in Asia and Africa, leading public health emergency and Development programmes, large scale intervention research, and had significant experiences in international development. Dr Om published more than dozens of research papers in international peer reviewed journals. He is also a guest lecturer in few universities in UK and Netherland and also leads Behaviour Change Group/Network at global level. Dr Om is a life member of Nepal Public Health Association and a life member of Nepal PhD Association. Dr Om also an advisor of NRNA UK and Chief Health Adviser for Health Department. Dr Om has been living in UK since 2011 in South East London and he is natively from Baglung, Nepal.

 


Joint Secretary: Mr Ramhari Hamal, LLB, MBA, MAAT, CeMAP

Mr Ramhari Hamal is the Joint-Secretary of SONP-UK. Mr Hamal is a Mortgage and Protection Adviser with more than 25 years of diverse work experiences in Accounting, Finance, Banking and community sectors. Previously he had worked with different organizations including Central Bank, and development projects like NGO Fund Project, GTZ, RWSS, MCPW. Mr Hamal holds LLB, MBA, MAAT and CeMAP. Mr Hamal currently working as a Mortgage & Protection Adviser. He has great interest in working with community-based organizations.  Mr Hamal has been living in South East London UK since 2007 and he is natively from Parbat, Nepal.

 


Treasurer: Mr Shambhu Adhikari, MBA

Mr Shambhu Adhikari is the Treasurer of SONP-UK. Mr Adhikari holds MBA from TU Nepal. Mr Adhikari is an accounting and financial professional with more than 26 years of work experiences in Governmental, Private Institutions and Non-Governmental sector. Since 2006, Mr Adhikari has been working in several private sector commercial organisations in London and South-East Kent, UK as Financial Controller, Group Finance Manager and Head of Finance. Mr Adhikari has been living in Kent, UK since 2006 and he is natively from Lamjung, Nepal

 


Member: Mr Chandra Karki, MA

Mr Chandra Karki is an executive member of SONP-UK. Mr Karki holds Master’s in Criminal Justice System from UK and Master’s in English Literature from Nepal. Mr Karki currently works as a Crime Investigator in New Scotland Yard, Metropolitan Police Services, London. Previously he had worked as Lecturer in Tri-Chandra College, Kathmandu, Nepal. Mr Karki has been living in South East London UK since 2007 and he is natively from Morang Nepal.

 


Member: Dr Ramji Poudel, PhD, MPhil, MA, MBA

Dr Ramji Poudel is an executive member of SONP-UK. Dr Ramji Poudel is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance having more than 27 years of experience in teaching profession (more than 20 years in higher and further educational institutions). Dr Ramji holds a PhD in Corporate Governance from Cranfield School of Management, Cranfield University, UK, and MPhil in Management, MA in Economics and MBA in Finance from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Dr Ramji has research interests in the field of accounting and finance, particularly in corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, business ethics, corporate finance, financial reporting systems. Dr Poudel has been living in Kent, UK since 2007 and he is natively from Tanahun, Nepal.

 


Member: Mr Bimal Adhikari, MA, M.Ed

Mr Bimal Adhikari is an executive member of SONP-UK. Mr Bimal holds MA and M.Ed from TU Nepal. Mr Bimal previously worked as a Vice-president and Secretary of SONP-UK. Mr Bimal has 15 years of combined experiences including in teaching field. Mr Bimal currently working as in multi-families owned real estate investment company in facility management. Mr Bimal currently learning potential investment options for small scale investors. Mr Bimal has been living in South East London since 2007 and he is natively from Nawalparasi, Nepal.

 


Member: Mrs Gita Bhattarai Chapagain, BA

Mr Gita Bhattarai Chapagain is an executive member of SONP-UK. Mrs Gita graduated in Economics and Nepali from Tribhuvan University Nepal and completed  Post Graduate Diploma in Business and Management from UK. Mrs Gita have over two decades of experiences in the education sector as well as an extensive engagement in food and hygiene industries both in the UK and overseas.  Mrs Gita has greater interest in painting, designing and drawing. Mrs Gita has been living in Kent, UK since 2010 and she is natively from Chitwan, Nepal.

 


Member: Mrs Pranita Parajuli Timilsina, BA

Mrs Pranita Parajuli Timilsina is an executive member of SONP-UK. Mrs Parajuli hold Bachelors’ Degree from TU, Nepal and currently works for NHS, UK. Mrs Parajuli has working experiences in various sectors such as teaching, computer science, health sector. Mrs Parajuli has been living in Kent, UK since 2004 and she is natively from Bhaktapur, Nepal.

Engineer Surya Kandel is an executive member of SONP-UK. Er Surya is an Electronics and IT specialist with many years of experiences working in Information & Technology, Electronics & Technical Education. Er Surya has worked with various organizations including Financial Controller Office and Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training in Nepal. Er Surya currently working as Freelancer in Information and Technology sector in UK. Er Surya is interested in working with the communities for social development. Er Surya has been living in UK since 2007 in South London and he is natively from Lamjung, Nepal.
